-As we slept last night, former Twice-Indicted (so far) Ex-President (TIsfEP) Trump attorney – and soon to be ex-attorney everywhere – Rudy Giuliani filed a statement in a GA court in which he admitted he lied when he said that two GA women “mishandled” votes in the GA recount in 2020, when Giuliani was part of a Trump team attempting to steal the state’s election votes for Joe Biden (ALLEGEDLY) (eye roll). The women, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, were forced to go into hiding after Giuliani’s claims led to threats on the womens’ lives, and the motion was made as part of a lawsuit brought by the women. The motion was made as part of what Rudy’s attorneys hope will lead to a dismissal of a lawsuit filed by the two ladies against Rudy, and that the admission may also be a tacit admission that Trump did, in fact, lose GA (and that Rudy and the team knew it while making the statement) has led to further speculation on whether Rudy is now helping both Special Prosecutor Jack Smith and/or Fulton County D.A. Fani Wills.
-And, as the wait for potential January 6 indictments continue amid reports that one of the grand juries hearing evidence and witnesses in DC have witnesses booked through the first week of August (thus potentially delaying such indictment announcements), it was revealed through FOIA disclosures that Smith obtained eight search warrants during his attempt to resecure classified documents removed by Trump (because of Trump’s incorrect belief that the “Presidential Records Act” means “I was the President so they are my records forever!”). The documents do not reveal what was searched for, when the searches took place, or specific times and dates – but do seem to help Smith’s claims that Trump deliberately played a shell game with said documents. (At least the ones that weren’t in a bathroom or a stage or a storage area.)
-In response to the continuing build towards January 6 Trump indictments, Trump puppet Rep. Kevin McCarthy (SINO-R, CA) is now claiming he is “warming” to the idea of opening up impeachment proceedings against President Biden. Biden political opponents not in the UltraMAGA camp question what kind of crime Biden might be charged with, but McCarthy – who in the past admitted the Benghazi hearings were created solely to drive down polling numbers for Hillary Clinton – seems determined to appease the GOP party leader and concoct a charge in order to create a bothsider environment heading into the general election in 2024.
-And if we’re talking about the House and a Biden, The Worst And Most Despicable Public Enemy Number One That There Has Ever Or Will Ever Be – HUNTER BIDEN (DUMDUMDUUUUMMMM!!!) can’t be far behind. This morning, Hunter is entering two tax-related guilty pleas after an investigation into his finances concluded – and at least one UltraMAGA House member attempted to file for the record a claim that the DE investigation was tainted. The attempt failed, but it is almost unquestioned that attacks on Hunter will continue, as Hunter Biden is a bigger priority for the GOP House than silly things like the hottest summer in American history or legitimate immigration reform or true voting protection …
-Billionaire weirdo Elon Musk’s newest super-genius idea of rebranding Twitter into “X” has, to what should be no surprise whatsoever, been met with both righteous derision and a few bumps in the road. Besides the obvious issue that the name change has done nothing to alleviate the increasingly dysfunctional site, Musk first wound up with egg on his face after officials in San Francisco stopped a construction crew from removing the “Twitter” signage from the headquarters because Musk had no permits to do so – with the job stopping with “er” still on the building marquee. As if that weren’t embarrassing enough, it was also revealed that both Apple and Microsoft apparently had longstanding intellectual property rights to use of the letter “X” as a brand or name or logo for a social media site, opening up the likelihood of litigation against ol’ Elon. And the exodus from … that social media site … continues, with the Meta-created Threads releasing its first update to its very-new web site an announcement that the Chinese-controlled TikTok may soon create an adjacent text-only site to that site. (This writer is on Threads @jafedorko if you wanna take a peek!).
-Speaking of people with negative momentum, another 1/3 of the staff of FL Gov. Ron DeSantis’ reeling Presidential campaign were let go this week in an attempt to what the rest of the campaign referred to as a “reboot” of DeSantis’ campaign. DeSantis’ numbers continue to fall as the money woes and major impediment of Ron DeSantis being an inauthentic dweeb with the presence of Frank Burns from MASH and the voice of a three-year-old with diaper rash continue to plague him. (YES, he technically COULD turn it around, but until he actually looks like he will, let’s pile on the wannabe tyrant all we can, shall we?)
-Stay safe out there, everyone! Thunderstorms in the Midwest, Atlantic Ocean water temperatures approaching “hot tub” warmth, and the upcoming baseball trading deadline are all gonna make everyone a bit nutty in the next few days. Breathe and get some ice cream …
