-The number of lies Ex-President Trump XCI was able to spew on Kristen Welker's inaugural MEET THE PRESS show are still being documented, along with massive criticism of Welker allowing Trump to do what Trump does and NBC News (NOT to be mixed up with MSNBC, which are two separate organizations) for choosing to give Trump an hour of major network time to be treated like a normal candidate. That NBC did so with a pre-taped interview makes the episode all the more egregious to everyone except the corporate powers hoping for big ratings (though no ratings have been released as of this writing).
-Apparently feeling good about himself, Trump followed up that appearance with a Rosh Hashanah message on Sunday that has been decried as anti-Semitic and threatening by observers. The post was a "quick message to liberal Jews who voted to destroy America & Israel because you believed in false narratives!" (in apparent reference to Trump's legal troubles and the ongoing justice problems with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu), ending by adding "Let's hope you learned from your mistake & make better choices moving forward!" It is estimated Trump only got 25% of the Jewish vote in the 2020 Presidential election, which he lost to Joe Biden, and it is presumed that was the motive behind the post.
-It could also be that those legal issues continue to pile on for Trump. A new report from one of Trump's former secretaries mentioned that Trump had so many classified documents in his possession and scattered around his Mar-a-Lago compound that he literally used the backs of some of the form for scribbles and to-do lists (not to mention her reportedly testifying Trump told her to "ignore" the dozens of boxes containing classified files). There are also reports that two of Trump's co-defendants in the GA trial involving the attempt to steal those electoral votes - Jeffrey Clark and Jenna Ellis - are now speaking out against Trump, hinting at the possibility they may be cooperating with Fulton County DA Fani Willis ahead of the main trial to be held some time in early 2024 after the severed trials of Ken Chesebro and Sidney Powell, which will begin October 23.
-Nevertheless, Trump continues to lead in the 2024 GOP Presidential nomination - and has announced he will skip the next Fox GOP debate on September 27 to address striking UAW workers in MI, one of the states Trump lost in 2020 he would need to win back to come close to re-seizing power. Democrats, already FHA-RREEEEKING OUT over polling revealing Biden is not as young as he used to be, is calling for Biden to march on the picket lines. There appear to be no plans to do so yet, though cabinet officials are monitoring the ongoing negotiations.
-Meanwhile, back in DC, UltraMAGA House Republicans are moving on their main priority by announcing their first hearing - well, their first hearing in this latest go-round - and subpoenaing America's Worstest Person Ever In The History of Worstest Persons, HUNTER BIDEN (DUMDUMDUMDUMDDDUUUUMMM!!!!) and his bank records. They may have a fight, as Biden is countersuing over what he contends were tax records improperly released to the public by the FBI, along with questions over whether Rep. James Comer's (HunteR!, KY) committee has probable cause to subpoena Biden and the bank records of him and his son - not to mention the precedent set by committee member Jim "Gym" Jordan (OtheR Way, OH) to simply ignore congressional subpoenas.
-The Hunter hearing is taking precedent over that silly business over keeping the government open, as at least three attempts by Kevin McCarthy (SINO-R, CA) to craft at least an interim spending agreement have been met with hardcore UltraMAGA opposition and a threat to remove him from the Speakership by UltraMAGA leader Matt Gaetz (Hey GiRl) - who is also now reportedly "100%" in on running for Governor of FL in 2026. The deadline to pass a spending agreement is September 30.
-And, in apparent reaction to the antics of fellow MAGAt Laruen Boebert (Hand Check - R, CO), Republicans on the campaign trail and in right-wing media have decided to attack Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who has relaxed dress rules on the Senate floor in part to accommodate Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), who because he is 6' 8" often dresses in sweats and gym shorts on the floor rather than a suit and tie. Fetterman has also been vocal about the Hunter Biden 'impeachment,' literally daring the GOP to try it - as did President Biden, who when asked about impeachment over the weekend simply smiled and said, "Lots of luck!"
