-The reverberations of Tuesday's ruling determining Ex-President Trump XCI, sons Don Jr. and Eric, former COO Alan Weisselberg and others committed fraud as a matter of course as part of the Trump Organization continue to carry. The ruling - which came in the form of a summary judgment, meaning Judge Arthur Engoron felt the evidence was so overwhelming no trial was necessary - has been called "the death penalty" for Trump, with the company being forced into receivership within 10 days and the above-mentioned frauds forbidden from doing business in the state of New York - and could ultimately mean liquidation of Trump Tower and a number of other properties. The ruling itself is shockingly entertaining, excoriating Trump's attorneys for continuing to use multiple-times-debunked arguments and openly mocking, for example, the Trump argument that the measurement of square feet in a property is theoretical and cannot be done exactly. (Worth a read!)
-The Trumps, for their part, are whining and crying on cue. Eric in particular has been very vocal, crying that he has "lost faith in the justice system!" while also insisting that Trump's Mar-a-Lago compound is too worth billions because the Trump family knows some guys in Saudi Arabia that would TOTALLY pay billions for it! (The property has most recently been valued around $300 million, with Eric's dad himself claiming that the property actually is not worth THAT much - which is exactly one of the frauds Trump carried out in New York: claiming properties are expensive and heueuge to potential investors but bleeding value and tiny to authorities) (and yes, in the legal briefs Trump argued that valuations can be based on what owners think they can get them purchased for) (uh ... no).
-Not to be outdone by real estate fraud, last night Trump himself blew off the second GOP 'Presidential' 'debate' to speak in MI in response to President Biden marching with UAW strikers. The fraud in the event came first as multiple news sources pointed out the plant Trump visited is a non-union plant, but The Daily Beast went further to talk to several UNION MEMBERS FOR TRUMP sign holders to discover that, surprise surprise, many were neither union members nor even employees in the automobile industry at all, but paid to attend the rally in which Trump argued that Biden's push for the auto industry to build electric cars ... will ... lead to no cars at all being built ...
-As for that GOP debate, it was so nondescript that even Fox News commentators charitably labelled it as "flat," with other reports of GOP financiers making concerned calls during the event noting that none of the participants were likely to come within 30 points of the front-runner. As for the front-runner, Trump took advantage by posting on social media his desire that all future GOP debates be cancelled in order to remind the country that JOE BIDEN IS AN OLD MAN (while ignoring that Trump is all of three years younger and far less physically and mentally fit).
-The country is three days from a government shutdown that is being created by Trump and his UltraMAGA allies in the GOP House in the belief that such a shutdown will end Trump investigations (they won't) and the potential chaos and recession that could be triggered by the shutdown can then be blamed on the White House (because JOE BIDEN IS AN OLD MAN) (also ignoring that all government shutdowns have been Republican-created and pinned correctly on Republicans by voters) - so this means, of course, that it's time for the UltraMAGA Priority One to be unleased: The Joe Biden "impeachment" "inquiry" featuring That Worst of the Worst of the Worst that America can create - HUNTER BIDEN (dumdumdumdumDUUUMMM).
-That hearing will feature nothing new. That is not opinion, that was the determination of Committee Chair James Comer (HunteR!, KY), who admitted as much yesterday, as three 'witnesses' will not say anything newsworthy and that, in fact, no evidence of Biden being even close to earning a legitimate impeachment hearing has yet to be found. On that score, an NBC News reporter pressing Committee member Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO) made Smith leave a briefing in a huff after the reporter asked about a 2017 text message Smith insisted was a smoking gun evidence of the Biden Crime Family buying political influence ... except for the fact that in 2017, Biden was not Vice President, not a Senator, and had officially retired with no governmental links whatsoever, so there was no influence to be bought or peddled.
-Unless Biden forgot because JOE BIDEN IS AN OLD MAN ...
-Closing with better news, the Writers Guild strike is not officially over, but the union has ended the strike amid reports that the agreement reached between the union and Hollywood producers is a slam-dunk win for the writers. As a result, writers are now working, and a touch of normalcy will return starting Monday when the network late-night talk shows all return (Colbert, Kimmel, Myers, and I guess we have to count Fallon), followed by John Oliver next Sunday and THE DAILY SHOW October 16 (with more guest hosts as their search for a permanent replacement for Trevor Noah renews). Talks between producers and still-striking actors are believed to be ready to resume next week (SOLIDARITY to the actors - and real auto workers!).
