NATIONAL DISHWASHER DAY UPDATES
Whether It Is The Machine Next To Your Sink or the Kid Finishing His/Her Chores (Hopefully), HOORAY For Dishwashers!
-As we here in the States adjust to the adjustment of our clocks to grab an extra hour of sunlight at the end of the day for a few weeks at the expense of some of us waking up to darkness to get ready for the day (WHAT? Do I SOUND annoyed?!?), we also continue to adjust to the all-chaos all-the-time sad normality this country decided it wanted to run the country instead of a black woman and people who want to run the government well actually trying to do so. And an incident on Thursday, corroborated by the New York Times and the behavior of the central players involves, confirm that, at least in the short term, we gotta endure this crap on multiple levels.
-The incident was a Cabinet meeting run attended by the Not Cabinet Member, Apartheid Boy Elon Musk. In said meeting, Musk continued his activities of being subcontracted to by berating those in the Putz Parade who Musk deemed not having created enough of their own chaos by randomly cutting thousands of dedicated civil service workers. That did not sit well with the Water Boy, Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Reportedy annoyed at Elon (and word is Rubio is FAR from alone in THAT assessment of Musk) and reportedly infuriated at Musk's destruction of the what-was-supposed-to-be-State-Department-controlled US Agency for International Development (USAID), Rubio ripped into Musk and his barely-pubescent team of uneducated jagoffs grifters now collecting six-figure salaries paid for by taxpayers coders, leading to what the Times described as an "uncomfortably long" exchange.
-Trump listened as Rubio and THE REAL WORLD alumnus and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy also chimed in at a defensive Elon, when Dear Boss and Leader then intervened and told all of the Putzes in attendance that while Dear Leader approved of Elon's hacking, it is up to all the Putzes in their Departments to now take over and cut for themselves. Of course, an hour later in the Oval Office Trump contradicted THAT edict by claiming the Real President really is in charge - but, as he did before, Trump's create-chaos-and-watch-the-battles "management approach" would still hold sway - and does indicate that Elon will also be part of any Trump-created management chaos.
-Not that Elon ... might mind? One the one hand, stories over the weekend pointed out that Musk himself is a big fan of creating chaos and making life miserable for any company he takes over and drives into the ground just like his Vice President! - but on the other the combination of his very fragile ego and copious drug use makes it unclear what he may be acting on, or when, or why, or for what purpose, or even if he knows himself.
-That certainly tracks this weekend given what happened to the latest SpaceX test flight, which was launched on Friday and lasted for nine minutes before it all disintegrated over Florida - and spread so much debris in the atmosphere (some shards falling as far north as Philadelphia) that over 240 commercial flights had to be rerouted in mid-flight so as not to collide with any of the flaming entrails (reports the SpaceX softball team will now be called The Flaming Entrails could not be confirmed at this time). And the fact that the FAA had just enough air traffic controllers to be able to divert those flights given the rash of incidents since January 20 may be of some comfort ... until you realizes that the fired-by-Elon controllers may be replaced by a system run by ... wait for it ... Musk's Starlink company!
-WHATTACOINKYDINK!
-Anyway, the guy who got just enough votes (Rep. Al Green was RIGHT, Democrats) left the aforementioned meeting and started to again make some observers seriously question just how much brain matter he has left. The day after his Cabinet meeting, a reporter asked Dear Leader a question about his "large-scale federal government layoffs." Trump wheezegarbled in response, "large-scale fentanyl what?" before launching into yet another diatribe about Canada and all the fentanyl and all the waste Elon has been finding like 350-year-olds getting Social Security "and we're going to be looking at it very strongly, and we'll see what happens."
-Naturally, nobody dared challenge Trump on whatever that was. Axios reports "a chill" in DC as both Legacy Media lumps and jelly-backed politicians quiver in so much fear over a withering social media post by either Trump or Musk (and subsequent flying monkey threats to families that now go unexamined as Ka$h Patel tele-manages the FBI from his Las Vegas home) they dare not respond or be critical.
-So when Trump decided to amplify a social media post from perpetually prepubescent right-wing hatemonger Charlie Kirk (who will be returning to this update - and you aren't gonna like it when he does) that "PEOPLE SHOULD SHUT UP ABOUT THE PRICE OF EGGS!" or another graphic that juxtaposed Trump's anus face with a young Elvis Presley (because nobody apparently told Trump how the story ended for Elvis while the rest of us smile wistfully), all the Times can do is talk about how TRUMP B OLD - HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! No, rather, the Times will try to make us think Trump is dazzling us with genius step-ahead-of-the-game moves in which "Contradictions Are His Ultimate Cover!"
-It leaves us to use our actual eyes and ears to see what is ACTUALLY happening to continue to build the opposition (because we're beyond mere resistance) and speak truth to power. Yesterday was International Women's Day, and thousands of protests took place across the U.S., with a side focus on Tesla showrooms - where, too bad so sad, stock prices have plummeted over $140 billion, unsold cars gather dust, older cars are now being sold for parts or whatever they get (or, in the cases of Sheryl Crow and Cassandra "Elvira, Mistress of the Dark" Peterson, selling their Teslas and donating the sales to National Public Radio - aw!), and in France, Tesla stores creating flaming entrails of their own under flames and protests (which may be why, in what is looking like another manic social media posting cycle, Musk is now in favor of the United States leaving NATO and insisting Ukraine will soon lose because he will not allow Starlink to give them wifi - never mind other countries are now or are prepared to provide it).
-There are also other movements on the streets. Democratic voters continue to be infuriated at the utter lack of action, opposition, or even support for its most vocal defenders of democracy like Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jasmine Crockett to actually fight Trump and the Putzes. It is clear that Kamala Harris' November loss has sparked a return of the dreaded Blue Dog Democratic faction, apparently led once again by Rahm Emanuel and following the "strategy" of 427-year-old James Carville, who last month advised Congressional Democrats to boldly do ... nothing ... to fight back on the fascist tendencies of ... (gestures wildly).
-Democrats are pretty much doing nothing, and even though part of the rationale Carville twanged about is the admittedly vast incompetency being displayed so as to make MAGA hang itself (which, if polling is accurate, is happening), there is doing nothing and there's doing NOTHING - or at least nothing to inspire more people to act positively.
-Then again, considering what Gavin Newsom decided to do this week, maybe doing nothing is the better play …
-The Governor of California, who was a loud and proud Harris supporter and leader during January's horrific firestorms in Los Angeles, may have been listening to one too many Democratic consultants who, like Rahm in particular, is blaming hard-left policies for Harris' loss. So trying to take a page from the school that says Democrats need better and more modern messaging, Newsom - who has experience as a broadcaster - decided to launch a podcast. Unfortunately, Newsom's reading of the room somehow made him think the best guest to launch his podcast would be ... the aforementioned CHARLIE KIRK?!
-To make matters worse and likely put a flaming entrail to any potential 2028 Presidential bid, in said interview Newsom took a different page from Rahm and hung the transsexual community out to dry, agreeing with Kirk about how unfair it was for transsexual athletes to compete against women (no such evidence of ANY kind backs up that smear), as a way to show Democrats may have been too "woke" as a reason Trump won. Newsom is getting applause from centrist DC outlets like Politico, which likely means he has already deservedly lost a large chunk of the Democratic base.
-Good riddance.
-While we're at it, let's also throw middle fingers at the ten Democrats who vilely voted with the rest of the MAGAts in censuring Rep. Green for his righteous protest during the Trump "speech" and the alleged talking-to others who wore T-shirts and walked out of the speech got from Democratic House "leadership." If the idea of Rep. Hakeem Jeffries was to appease them, WHEN IS HE GOING TO LEARN FOR CHRIST SAKE?
-Because as the censure vote took place, all those folks sang "We Shall Overcome" in the House - and that led to a threat by MAGAt Rep. Andy Ogles to remove all those singing Democrats off any and all Committees that do any kind of oversight on Trump and Musk. THAT finally made Jeffries defend his team, but the aggravation of a base that DC leadership has been red-assed about because of said protests is still not being met by ... and work with me on this one ... responding to what the base wants!
-It leaves giving voice to DOING SOMETHING on the left back, again, to Bernie Sanders, who over the weekend hosted two beyond-overflow crowds in the swing states of Wisconsin and Michigan as he voiced support for fighting and trying to slow down the Trump/Musk express - even if (as we all hope) that express will constantly jump rails and careen wildly towards a possible derailment or spectacular crash ... knowing there are people on the train, people on the tracks, and people whose homes are right in line with any cars that go flying off the literal rails ...
-Yes, there's obviously much more going on, including Trump threatening law firms who dared support his prosecutions, continuing to act like they can manipulate Ukraine into giving Vladimir Putin all he wanted when he invaded finally breaking ground on Trump Tower Moscow and/or St. Petersburg "peace," also continuing to making those Justin Trudeau-schtupped-Melania and/or Ivanka rumors sure seem true threaten Canada, and (in much more fun news) NCAA Basketball Conference Tournament Week on our way to March Madness (two great tourneys loading up!), but we all have a little body adjustment to make, so let's get to our trivia updates and do that (especially with a sunny spring-like day here in Chicago)!
