NATIONAL SOLITAIRE DAY UPDATES
Remember When You Played So Long On A Computer Your Wrist Hurt? Good Times!
-First, a personal THANK YOU to everyone who opened and read my previous Substack - a new record! Here's hoping for MORE new records - keep circulating the tapes!
-As the case of Ex-President Trump (R-apist) LXXXVIII's catch-and-kill election interference trial prepares to go to the jury, attention pivots to the case of Trump's theft of ultra-classified documents and a series of revelations about the case that will continue to make it obvious to all but the deepest MAGAts that the only judge Trump has strangely not commented on, Aileen Cannon, sure seems to be doing everything she can to protect Trump from any consequence about them.
-An evidentiary hearing is taking place the day after the case was originally scheduled to begin, and as part of the hearing a new set of briefs were made public that revealed the FBI conducted two additional searches of Mar-a-Lago after the highly-publicized-by-Trump search in 2022 - and, yes, said searches found still more documents Trump had in his possession, including in his bedroom, which if the case were ever to go to trial sure would make a conviction look like a slam-dunk.
-In response to that revelation, Trump - with an assist from ally and MAGA Leader Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Z-Q-R, GA) - took standard boilerplate language on FBI search warrants that would allow for "the use of deadly force" if agents met resistance from executing a search warrant and turned it into a wildly irresponsible and utter lie that President Biden ordered the assassination of Trump. Greene in particular trumpeted this vile lie on her social media feed, also trying to tie in her failed attempt to oust Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Jay-EE-Zuz!, LA) in trying to portray the search as a Trump hunt. (And for the record, Trump was not at Mar-a-Lago for either search.)
-Trump's attorneys have filed a motion to dismiss the case based on this bizarre theory, and given Cannon's proclivities it is not out of the realm of possibility that she just might grant it, though if she tried it would prompt an immediate appeal from Special Prosecutor Jack Smith that could ultimately lead to Cannon's removal - though all of this would continue to delay the trial well past Election Day, which remains Trump's sole legal strategy (which, let's be honest, is working on that score).
-All that is on the heels of a video that was released and then pulled after a day from the Trump campaign which featured a series of faux newspaper headlines (like MAGAts read newspapers) trumpeting a 2024 Trump victory - along with two separate images of 'stories' in which a new Trump Presidency would usher in a "unified reich." The story did get some major media attention, although many of them soft-pedaled the fact that the video was promoted from Trump's social media feeds, meaning he personally approved the message - and the Biden social media team seized on the video to again point out how delightfully Trump is embracing becoming a full-on authoritarian slash dictator slash Orange Putin if given the chance.
-If you needed still more evidence of that, this Substack would point to an interview he conducted on a PA news station earlier this week where, looking very squinty and dark amber, admitted that a new Trump term would certainly "look into" abolishing or restricting all birth control drugs. Seem outrageous? The radical right MAGA legislature in LA just approved of such a ban in that state - and it is likely to become law under their new MAGA right-wing Governor. It is in line with other basic tenets of Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation plan to impose an Americanized form of apartheid government dictated by radical Christian and authoritarian goals advocated by Trump in the radical leftist rag known as TIME Magazine.
-At least there is that New York case, though. Most observers felt the lone 'star' defense witness, Trump attorney Robert Costello, would up undermining what little defense that was mounted thanks to a combination of his obnoxiousness and an admission that he was trying to keep former Trump attorney Michael Cohen from revealing his role in the Stormy Daniels scandal, thereby supporting one of Cohen's major contentions and potentially building useful credibility towards Cohen. Closing arguments will be next week.
-It also appears there may soon be movement in the GA election case, as primary elections in the state resulted in wins for Fulton County D.A. Fani Wills and the presiding judge in the case, Scott McAfee. An opening date for that case is still tentatively scheduled for August, though there is an appeal in place to attempt to remove Wills from the case because of an unacknowledged relationship with a now-former prosecutor assigned to the case.
-But wait - there's yet another potential legal filing Team Trump is preparing for! The newest one involves THE APPRENTICE, which is not a repeat of the NBC series that kept Trump's celebrity afloat long enough to allow him to run for President, but a feature film starring Sebastian Stan (Marvel's Winter Soldier) as Trump that is about the aforementioned series. Apparently the movie - which premiered to some acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival - depicts Trump as being an amphetamine-taking and liposuction-receiving boor who also is shown in a scene throwing then-wife Ivana to the floor and having what Rolling Stone refers to as "having nonconsensual sex with her."
-The Trump campaign will reportedly sue to stop the movie's release, claiming the "pretend filmmakers" (no, there's an actual movie that was made) is "pure fiction" and, of COURSE, "election interference by Hollywood elites who know that President Trump (he is not President) will retake the White House and beat their candidate of choice (because apparently Biden is now a movie producer?) because nothing they have done has worked (not that polling is super-accurate anymore, but the preponderance of polls show a close election with some Biden momentum)." Expect lots more money to be spent for attorneys that will not go to the Republican Party and for the movie to be released.
-Whew! With all that, we need another breather and another atmosphere-cleanser, so to do that and wrap today's update we will return, once again because he's the gift that keeps on giving, to former Trump attorney and 'friend' Rudy Giuliani!
-After finally being served a warrant for his arrest in a scheme in Arizona to steal electoral votes from the winner of the Presidential election of 2020 (Joe Biden) during his 80th birthday party - in which the person who served the warrant stopped to sing "Happy Birthday" before serving the warrant (BALLER!) - Rudy was arraigned on the charges on Tuesday. Rudy appeared virtually and showed why he is where he is, first by being admonished by the Judge for delivering a campaign speech of sorts instead of a simple "not guilty" (which was his plea), then by failing to turn off his camera and muting the sound, leading to the sound of Rudy going to the bathroom as the hearing continued. Somehow Rudy found $10,000 to post.
-And how did he find that $10,000 to post? Possibly because ... wait for it ... RUDY COFFEE! Yes, you read that correctly - Rudy Giuliani, under extreme financial stress because of being convicted of the slandering of two GA election workers, the loss of his radio show for continuous lies about Trump having the 2020 election stolen (nope - Biden won) and mounting financial debts from his criminal and sexual harassment trials and loss of his legal license in at least one state - is now selling two-pound bags of beans showing younger versions of Rudy on the bag and weird aphorisms ("Fighting for justice!" "Enjoying life!" "America's Mayor!") to try to raise a buck. Word is the brew from the beans have notes of excessive scotch, hair dye and 911 if you wanted a bag for yourself.
